In the afternoon of the 4th day of our training course “Comedy as a Tool – Enhancing Youth Engagement through Humor” everyone returned to their groups and collectively learned about some different templates that are commonly used in creating a good joke. Then by following these directions we created comedy acts according to our premises and topics connected to different social issues.
We had an energizer to wake us up a little bit and wake our imagination in order to be ready to come up with some good jokes. We got back to our groups and continued to write and perform more jokes with or without the templates given to us. Ideally, we had to write at least 5 jokes (bits). The task was to expand our comedian imagination and to expand our options. We finished by presenting them to our trainer Irena who gave us valuable feedback and refined our jokes.
To end the day, we had a Turkish intercultural night. It was a very special day for Turkiye because they were celebrating 100 years of the Turkish Republic. To commemorate the occasion, the Turkish team had a comprehensive presentation about their country and culture. We danced, laughed, had good food and even had a Turkish fortune telling with coffee.
